Environment quality monitoring

The Latvian Environment, Geology, and Meteorology Agency has developed the Environment Monitoring Program (approved by the decree Nr.29 of the Minister of Environment on January 24th, 2006) replacing the previous National Environment Monitoring Program.

The Environment Monitoring Program consists of the following subsections:

  • Air monitoring;
  • Water monitoring;
  • Plant and surface growth monitoring;
  • Biologic diversity monitoring.

Fulfillment of the Environment Monitoring Program is coordinated be LEGMA.
