Radar technical specifications:
- air mass surveillance using Doppler effect;
- atmospheric scanning with short radio waves (5.4 cm, 5.6 GHz, C-band);
- range – 250 km radius around "Riga" airport;
- the radar image is updated every 10 minutes;
- Universal Co-ordinated Time (UTC) is used for the radar images. (Local time: +2h).
More information on the operation of the meteorological radar and available products is provided in greater detail in the following presentation (in Latvian).
Attention!
